During the 10 years of doing business in Serbia, we’ve been successful in attracting the liking of a large number of customers, which in turn leads to an increase in our responsibility, but also satisfaction.

We are convinced that this is largely due to the fact that we uncompromisingly adhere to our basic ideas, which is to constantly improve the product range and provide high-quality dairy products to which our consumers are accustomed.

THE HISTORY OF THE MEGGLE COMPANY

In 1887 Jozef Anton Meggle, the grandfather of today’s owner Toni Meggle, founded MEGGLE, a small cheese factory near Wasserburg (next to Munich in Bavaria). In addition to other products, the factory also dealt with the production of dry matter for the pharmaceutical and food industries. Today, MEGGLE has a long tradition and is known as one of the most renowned dairy producers in Europe. It processes 750 million liters of milk annually. It employs over 2,600 people worldwide, and its wide range of products is distributed across 47 countries.

Mladost dairy factory was founded in 1954. It was initially owned by the state and privatized in 2004 by Silbo, which signed a contract with the German dairy factory MEGGLE on 17 December 2010.

In 2011, in Kragujevac, an official contract for the takeover of the dairy factory Mladost by MEGGLE was signed.

On 13 July 2011, the dairy factory changed its name to MEGGLE Srbija d.o.o.

Today, production takes place at the site covering a total area of over 22,500 m², within which more than 6,500 m² of production and warehouse space is located along with the appropriate equipment and facilities processing milk, production and control of dairy products, as well as their proper storage and distribution to the market.

Thanks to the capacity of the dairy, and to a smaller extent an imported assortment from sister companies across Europe, MEGGLE has successfully retained its assortment of over 100 different products. The most famous products from the local range are certainly milk, yoghurt, sour milk, sour cream, kefir and cooking cream…

Countries in the region have recognized the quality of our domestic products, hence today, MEGGLE Serbia exports to markets in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, and to markets in European Union countries – Croatia, Romania, Bulgaria, Austria, Germany, as well in the markets of Russia and the United Arab Emirates.

MEGGLE Serbia is constantly investing in expanding its production and logistics capacities, as well as introducing and investing in new technologies, training and development of its staff.

Today, MEGGLE Serbia employs over 150 workers. It collaborates with approximately 400 farmers whose farms are spread across the entire territory of Serbia, and where annually approximately 40 million liters of fresh cow milk are purchased.
